now in agony over asbel and aston. literally just — how they missed each other while they were both alive, and how asbel’s dream changed overtime during the course of the journey. how he became the father that he had never been able to have for himself, for others. how he came from a broken family, a broken home, a broken life, alongside so many others, and stepped up and created something out of what had been broken. 

it really comes full circle, fate and war, disagreements and their father’s way of dealing with things breaks the lhant family, sophie’s death tears it apart, asbel’s leaving creates a stagnant tomb where a manor was.

asbel returns, asbel fights, sophie returns, everyone eventually comes home, and asbel creates that home.

and he learns what it truly means to love and be strong, to grow and to fight, from sophie and the others, he learns what his father truly felt by becoming a father himself, and the unconditional love he holds for sophie. he didn’t conquer by killing others — he conquered by preserving the future by his own heart, and the ones that were united beside him. he makes a home even for his enemies, for anyone.

and he comes back and he keeps his promise to his broken mother, that they all will return home and everything will begin anew.

and he does.
and it did.
