lmao i dont get asbel hate at all

it’s either that he’s dumb which he’s not i mean, obviously the world would be pretty screwed over if he was, or that he makes it all about him??? contrary to a lot of protagonists he literally only has one moment where he feels sorry for himself and that’s at the beginning and then he pretty much sucks it up and in skits he reasonably is sad with the rest of the party and yet he gets so much flack for it????

then there’s that he’s dense with cheria – and considering what’s happening, and how he’s pretty much the leader of the party – do you really think he’s going to notice people having affection for him that’s romantic? he’s been dead-set on trying to help others since his friend died, and now his friend could die again with the rest of his friends and the world oh and his best friend is crazy — it’s not that he's dense, it’s that he’s 110 percent focused on the objective, on the main priority: saving the world.
