The Importance of Drakengard 3
Last Tuesday, after a long year of initial uncertainty and waiting, Drakengard 3 finally came to the United States. Since it’s release, it has been critically acclaimed by many fans, but it has also been met with mixed reviews, mostly positive, but one stood out to me. This review from Metro calls the game “juvenile,” calling the main protagonist “wholly unlikable” and accusing the game of “rampant sexism.”
I received my copy of Drakengard 3 yesterday and have been playing it extensively-I’ve made it to the Land of Forests, so I think I have a pretty good feel for it. Playing more, and seeing more of Zero (the main character) has made me want to respond to this review..
